Set the Bar High(t)

A home bar can take your entertaining to the next level—just make sure that it’s the right level. Bars, tables, and stools come in different heights, so it’s important to match the height of your bar or table with the correct stools for the right fit.

  • Standard dining tables are 30” high and dining chairs are about 18” high.
  • Counter height tables are about 36" high (the same height as a standard kitchen counter), and counter height stools are about 24" high.
  • Bar height tables are about 42" high and bar height stools are about 30" high. Don’t use counter height stools with a bar—they’re too short.

Cart it Around

If you don’t have room for a dedicated bar, a bar cart is the perfect solution for your space. These wheeled carts make it easy to serve drinks at your gathering and can do double duty as stylish storage when you’re not hosting.

Work in Some Green

This year, skip the dollar-store party decorations and add some green to your decor with home accents like throw pillows and faux plants. Once the party’s over, you’ll have decor that you can use in your home the rest of the year.
